I have been in private practice in the Sacramento area since 1989.  My theoretical approaches are tailored to the needs of my clients and range from psychodynamic family systems to developmental and cognitive behavioral.  I am trained and certified to utilize EMDR for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, addictions, blocking belief systems, and overeating.  I encourage a holistic approach to mental health including meditation, relation, exercise, nutrition, altruism, and mindfulness.  

My intention is to help the client go beyond "back to normal" to enrich his/her existence, face the negative aspects of self, and find happiness throught compassion and respect for others.  I believe the way we feel comes from what we do and what we do is a result of a different way of thinking.  I enjoy treating a diverse population of traditional as well as nontraditional families, couples, and individuals.  I welcome diversity and have been serving the GLBT community since the inception of my practice.  I facilitate women's groups as well as groups for individuals along the spectrum of gender identity transition.  I am open to all who want a positive change in behavior, more loving relationships, a positive outlook, and a clear and focused mind.
